Designed Around Your Yard
St. Joseph Landscaping and Hardscaping Designed to Help You Enjoy Life Outdoors
Landscaping makes a St. Joseph yard better to spend time in. Serenity Outdoors starts with how the yard works. Grade, drainage, access, and long-term use all shape the design before the visible details come together. St. Joseph sits on a bluff above Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the St. Joseph River. Being up on the bluff, with the lake on one side and the river below, puts grade and slope at the center of most projects here.
Much of the ground near the shore is sand, which drains fast and makes pavers easy to install, but they can slide on the bluff slopes when the grade and walls are not set for it. Closer to the river and the low spots inland, water sits higher, and where the yard falls toward the water, retaining walls and steps do a lot of the work.
If you are comparing landscapers in St. Joseph, look for a team that can plan the space before placing the materials. Some St. Joseph homes are lived in year round, and others open up just for the season. Either way, Jon designs with the full yard in mind, then builds the project to support how you want to use your home outside.

Why Homeowners in St. Joseph Choose Serenity Outdoors
We Start With Grade and Drainage
Before we talk about paver patterns, wall faces, fire features, or finishes, we look at how your yard handles water and how the grade affects the build.
Jon Leads the Design Through the Build
Your project is not passed from a salesperson to a crew that has never seen the plan. Jon is involved from the design conversation through the build, so the details discussed at the start carry into the finished space.
Your Project Can Be Planned in Phases
Some St. Joseph homeowners build the full outdoor living space in one season. Others start with the patio and retaining wall, then add the fire feature, kitchen, water feature, or landscape beds later. We can plan the full space first, then build it in phases so each stage feels complete and supports the next one.
We Treat Your Build Like It's for Our Yard
Outdoor living projects are lasting investments. Our team focuses on careful layout, clean details, strong base prep, and materials that fit the space. The goal is to create a space your family will want to use again and again.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
We design and build patios, retaining walls, outdoor steps, fire features, outdoor kitchens, water features, landscape beds, and full outdoor living spaces. Many projects combine several of these features into one design.
Our work is design-build. We focus on landscape renovations, patios, retaining walls, steps, fire features, outdoor kitchens, water features, and landscape beds. We are not the best fit for weekly mowing or routine lawn maintenance.
Yes. Grade and drainage are part of the planning process. St. Joseph has plenty of sloped, bluff-side lots along with sandy ground near the shore and low spots near the river, so we look at how water moves through your yard before designing patios, walls, steps, and other hardscape features.
Yes. We can design the full outdoor living space first, then build it in stages. This helps each phase stand on its own while still supporting the long-term plan.
The cost depends on the size of the project, the materials, site access, grade, drainage, and whether the work is built all at once or in phases. You can use the Free Estimate page as a starting point, then Jon will create a firm proposal after the design consultation.
Sooner than most homeowners expect. Winter and early spring are good times to start design conversations, especially if you want your project on the build schedule before the busy season fills.
